Yes, but the wrong one. Different perl versions are incompatible.

Supposing you are running Panther, you want the -pm581 one.
As to perl:
i perl560-core 5.6.0-2 Core files for perl, v. 5.6.0
i system-perl 5.8.1-1 [virtual package representing perl]
These two don't get along either.
