Okay,
fink selfupdate just wouldn't work using rsync, so I went back to
fink selfupdate --cvs
fink 0.19 installed fine. Then I tried
fink selfupdate -rsync
and all is roses again. Anyone have any ideas why 0.18 stopped getting updates via rsync?

Just as additional info since I had the same problem again today trying to do rsync (and I let it cycle thru all mirrors--same problem).
Here's my fink version:

Am I the only one still having a problem updating? Last time I got it to work was I think Sunday.
As for rsync, the rsync website list 2.60 as the latest version, but I'm guessing fink hasn't caught up to that yet based on your last email.
As for my system, I'm using a G3 iBook 800 with 384MB RAM hooked up to a LAN thru Airport (sharing a DSL connection with an xBox and iMac DV 400). Currently the xBox isn't physically hooked up, but the iMac is and the iMac gets the exact same problem with all the mirrors timing out. Both macs have OS X 10.3.2 installed. I don't think it's my internet connection or my local layout since I've not changed anything that I'm aware of since the last successful update, but I thought I'd include that info just to be sure.
Thanks for any help,

This help??

Looks fine. THe HFS+ enabled version of rsync (aka RsyncX) can be a bit flaky, but that's not what you have. Maybe it's a server problem?
