Observation:
With XDarwin/Gnome running full screen and in the background I find that my system load is only about .15, but my Powerbook is burning hot. My conclusion is that the GPU (which is not reported by top) must be wide open throttle. Everything goes back to normal when I quit XDarwin. I assume this must be bad for battery life ;-) I am wondering if this is a commonly heard complaint? I am running 10.3.3 on a PB 1Ghz.
