I looked for the answer to this question in the fink doc's and faq but
could not find it....

At home I have a G4 w/ Panther but only a slow network link. At work I
have G4's and G5's w/ Jaguar with high speed network links. Is there a way
that I can fool fink on the work machines and download source (or object
code) packages, burn them on a CD and take it home. For example the Jaguar
machines can't see the GIMP2 packages but my machine at home can.

Try this (this assumes you have lots of disk space):

1) Copy /sw/src to /sw/src.bak
2) Clear out all files from /sw/src
3) Edit /sw/etc/fink.conf and change the Distribution: line to read

Distribution: 10.3

4) Run "fink selfupdate"--which if you're using rsync will now download descriptions from the 10.3 branch (CVS downloads them all, anyway)
5) Run "fink fetch-all". This will download everything in 10.3. If you don't want everything, you can fetch selected packages.
6) Burn /sw/src to one or more CD's.
7) Reset your Distribution: back to 10.2-gcc3.3 (assuming that's what it was before)
8) Put your old /sw/src back.
9) "fink selfupdate" again.
