I apologize if this question has been brought up but I have been having this problem for quite sometime now and I haven't been able to find an answer to this. First of all, this problem only arises when using fink and not apt. With apt everything works fine. However, when using fink I always have trouble during the end of the compilation process. For example, when putting the command fink install xchat fink goes about and compiles all the necessary files however I get this error message. From what I can decipher, it seems that fink does not recognize my system-xfree86 package but when I try to fink install fink tells me that there is no package to install. Doing a fink list shows me that I have the most current package of system-xfree86. Any help or comment is appreciated,
