I ran into it a few days ago. It appears that mozilla is not yet compatible with the freetype that comes with X.org. :(

Weird, I have no xorg installed but use apple's X11 with system-xfree86 but I do get the same compilation errors. I have the following freetype-packages installed:

 i   freetype2-hinting-dev      2.1.3-21
 i   freetype2-hinting-shlibs   2.1.3-21
     freetype2-shlibs           2.1.3-21

Any ideas?
