I downloaded the cc1plus_12 file to my desktop, moved it to <x-tad-bigger>/usr/libexec/gcc/darwin/ppc/3.3</x-tad-bigger> and then made a symlink to it from cc1plus. The thing is that when I delete it from my desktop, it asks for authentication and then deletes it from <x-tad-bigger>/usr/libexec/gcc/darwin/ppc/3.3</x-tad-bigger>. How can that be!?! Hi Fink users. I installed XTools 1.5 a while ago now, before realising that it had a broken gcc. Anyway, I've followed the instructions on the Fink web page to move my gcc out of the way and symlink to the file downloaded from Martin's website. However, it seems like I've done something wrong. First, I got warnings that gcc wasn't executable, so I fixed this by changing the permissions to make it executable, and also changed the owner to root and the group to wheel. Now, in compiling db, it fails with the following:
