As you can see, you have gnome-vfs2 installed, which depends on gnome-vfs2-shlibs. Fink wants to replace gnome-vfs2-shlibs but can't because it isn't smart enough to realize that gnome-vfs2 needs it. So you should manually remove gnome-vfs2. Then fink will be able to go about its business removing gnome-vf2-shlibs. For future reference, mix'n'matching -ssl and non-ssl will usually cause all kinds of headaches. Decide for yourself whether you want -ssl or not (IMO may as well have it) and then carefully read the choices and *always* choose the -ssl option (even if it isn't the default choice). > However, if I try to install just gnome-vfs2-dev, I get the following > problem: > > dpkg -i > /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/gnome/gnome-vfs2- > dev_2.6.1.1-14_darwin-powerpc.deb > (Reading database ... 85418 files and directories currently installed.) > Unpacking gnome-vfs2-dev (from > .../gnome-vfs2-dev_2.6.1.1-14_darwin-powerpc.deb) ... > dpkg: error processing > /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/gnome/gnome-vfs2- > dev_2.6.1.1-14_darwin-powerpc.deb (--install): > trying to overwrite > `/sw/include/gnome-vfs-2.0/libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs-application- > registry.h', which is also in package gnome-vfs2-ssl-dev > dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe) > Errors were encountered while processing: > > /sw/fink/dists/unstable/main/binary-darwin-powerpc/gnome/gnome-vfs2- > dev_2.6.1.1-14_darwin-powerpc.deb > ### execution of dpkg failed, exit code 1 > Failed: can't install package gnome-vfs2-dev-2.6.1.1-14 Now you have a -ssl thing present and are trying to replace certain parts of it with the non-ssl component. There may be an actual packaging flaw here (each -dev should be able to replace the other), but again the root action triggering it is mixing or switching between ssl and non-ssl forms. dan -- Daniel Macks [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.netspace.org/~dmacks ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by: Beat the post-holiday blues Get a FREE limited edition SourceForge.net t-shirt from ThinkGeek.
