This has happened to me when building gcc-4.0 (without fink), I forgot about
it until now though. Something deleted your /dev/null. You can get it back,
without even needing to reboot, so don't panic.
% sudo mount_devfs devfs /dev
This is troublesome that it happened to you too though.
