Hi Dave,

I originally asked if xdvi could remain a separate package because the xdvi bundled with TeX didn't display coloured text. Since the latest TeX contains a new version of xdvi that does display coloured text, I no longer need the separate xdvi. I have been using the new bundled xdvi (xdvik) since the latext TeX came out in fink, and it works fine for my needs.

But perhaps there are others out there still using it who don't want it to disappear -- so I've Cc'd fink-users.

I don't suppose fink has or needs a mechanism for discontinuing packages that are no longer needed, but maintainer time is a very precious commodity so I thought I should mention this change in functionality in case it allows your time to be directed to more important tasks.

Many thanks for maintaining the separate xdvi, it has been extremely useful to me.
