Hi folks,

how can I set a package to hold? On Debian Linux you can set this flag
in Synaptic or in an apt configuration file. In Fink I saw the state
"hold" on some packages, but I haven't fond any documentation on how to
set it, only how to ignore this flag and thus unsetting it.

The reason why I'm asking is that often packages don't compile, and fink
update-all fails always compiling the same package. I'd like to upgrade
all other packages that do not depend on the new version of the broken
package and not wait for the solution of this broken package. I'd also
like to avoid manually installing all these other packages, especially
when I don't know if some depend on the package that doesn't compile.

Jens
