Please ensure that you have gtk+-1.2.7-50 and it's -shlibs installed and
then try again (you don't need to rebuild ghemical).
Bingo. That worked perfectly. I now have my source tree compiling and I'll go take a crack at the ghemical package, which has some other compilation problem.
