Why -pm584? Do you have Fink's perl584 installed? With Tiger's system
perl, you would install the -pm586 variant.
But this is only a side question. The real problem is that this package
is broken on 10.4 and probably never was tested (maintainer CCed). The
error was already brought up earlier but never acted upon. It is also in
msachs' build logs at

It has also been discussed (and solved) outside of the Fink groups as
