The last time I checked all of the autoconf major versions were
mutually exclusive and needed to exist due to weird versioning
issues with autoconf/automake files (ie 2.1-2.5 needed to be
separate entities). So... why then is there a dependency issue :)?

Because autoconf isn't set up to replace autoconf2.5 automatically.
I would guess this was set up this way to prevent breakage in
parallel fink builds, i.e. one package wants autoconf-2.13, the
second wants autoconf-2.5. I'll cc the maintainer in case there
Remove autoconf2.5 and you should be good to go.
