Could you explain what is missing from the Fink packages? I see that
libgd.2.0.0.dylib is linked with /usr/X11R6/lib/libfreetype.6.dylib, and
the latter dylib looks like it (like Fink's versions of
libfreetype.dylib) has truetype support built in.
Otherwise, the way to change the compile options of a Fink package is to
copy the corresponding *.info file to your local tree and to modify it
with a text editor.
