I wanna mess with xdm and such but i dont know how it authenticates users. I have a very working knowledge of how OSX authenticates users (basically all i know is that it doesnt use /etc/passwd). I dont know if xdm uses the same thing. It doesnt seem to as i cant log onto it as my user name or as root. An help would be appreciated.
