Hi!,
I just updated maxima to 5.9.2 and it gives an error message I never
had before:
[...:/sw/bin] paul% maxima
*** - invalid byte #xCC in CHARSET:ASCII conversion
Are you running maxima from inside a directory with an "é" in its name?
No, it was from "/Users/paulinde/Documents"... and I tried from /sw/ as
well, same problem...
Hmm... Just for the record, I created a directory named "é", cd'ed into
it and ran maxima. This gave me the same error that you were reporting.
Maybe some other path that maxima or clisp are looking at contains
such a symbol? In any case, this looks like a bug in clisp, but one that
is not easy to track down.
