I do see the file in the pdb. I don't know how to explain it. I'm using 24.99.cvs; here's my fink.conf:

bash-3.00$ cat /sw/etc/fink.conf
# Fink configuration, initially created by bootstrap.pl
Basepath: /sw
RootMethod: sudo
Trees: local/main stable/main stable/crypto unstable/main unstable/crypto local/injected
Distribution: 10.3
FetchAltDir: Mirror-apt: http://bindist.finkmirrors.net/bindist

It is two lines, but perhaps there is a bad line ending. I'll see if I can verify.

There were a couple of space characters in the FetchAltDir: field that may have been messing with fink's head (heh, heh).

I removed that whole line and moved local/main to the end of the trees line and voilá, apt-get now sees my built packages.

I don't know whether it was removing the bad FetchAltDir: line or whether it was moving local/main to the end of the trees line that fixed the issue of apt-get's db failing to update. This should be simple enough to verify for the curious....
