Hi,

I've been away, so I hope this input is not too late.  Among the packages listed, I have made use of pretty much all of the MPI implementations (lam, mpich1, mpich2, and OpenMPI).  I am presently most interested in mpich2 and OpenMPI (since lam is on the way out).  I have not used k3dsurf, but it also sounds promising.  I am interested in several of the Python packages, including py-gsl, py-scientific (I am unclear how this is related to other packages like scipy), and py-tables.  Several of the other packages may also be of interest, but I would have to find out more about them to be sure.

Thanks,
Charles
