Thanks for your awesome response, I really learned a lot from it.

You definitely know a whole lot more about Fink than I do. So after
you make it work on your machine could you also provide the fixed
version of the .info file ? This to make sure that I'm not missing any
of your fixes. If you have more useful tips, I'm all ears or course :)

Also two more questions that come into my mind:

1. Is there any way to circumvent having to enable fink unstable and
compile the whole kde locally just to install krusader ? Will the kde
package ever get stable / binary ?

2. Is there any chance that Krusader eventually makes it into the KDE
fink packages list?
