Sorry Felix.  The fault is mine.  There was a mistake in the patch file 
(still referred to guile1.6.  I've fixed it now and am about to commit the 
change to fink's cvs, but if you are in a hurry, just change all instances 
of 1.6 to 1.8 in the patch file.
