Thank you for the quick for the help - I successfully installed svn-ssl.

Now when I do an update-all I get the following.

For some reason my install wants to update to the latest non-ssl libs 
for apr and db43 ... any ideas on this?

Fink isn't sure how to install the above packages safely. You may be 
able to fix things by running:

   fink scanpackages
   sudo apt-get update
   sudo apt-get install db43=4.3.29-2 db43-shlibs=4.3.29-2

Failed: Fink::SysState: Could not resolve inconsistent dependencies
