Hi: I am trying to install matplotlib and basemap. One or the other of these wants a tex distribution. I have installed the MacTex version of tex from http://www.tug.org/mactex/ and I would rather not install another version also. I tried using system-tetex, but it was an unhappy animal (see below). Is there anyway to trick system-tetex into using the Tex I already have installed?
