I'm trying to install the request-tracker Fink package, which along with
a hundred or so other things, requires Apache2 / mod_perl2 packages.
In building the mod_perl package (libapache2-mod-perl2-perl588), but it
keeps failing at the same point on two or three different machines, both
Intel and PowerPC, fully patched to 10.5.2 et al.
It looks like the build actually finishes successfully, but then the
post-build steps on the way to building a .deb get snagged. The last

Before reporting any errors, please run "fink selfupdate" and
try again. If you continue to have issues, please check to see if the
FAQ on fink's website solves the problem. If not, ask on the fink-users
or fink-beginners mailing lists, with a carbon copy to the maintainer:

Note that this is preferable to emailing the maintainer directly, since
most fink package maintainers do not have access to all possible
hardware and software configurations.
I've done the usual `fink selfupdate && fink update-all && !!` dance to
see if the problem would go away after bringing the Fink tree up to
date, but it doesn't change the behavior.
I've skimmed the list archives but don't see anything directly relevant.
