Alex/Stan,

Thank you. The ugly hack works! The other did not. Now that my  
keyboard mapping is less of an issue does anyone have any further  
ideas on the Gnome menu? Installing additional items aren't added to  
the Gnome menu bars. I seem to be missing a few that I have had in  
previous versions of Fink as well as on Ubuntu etc...
