Try running /sw/lib/gconf2/gconf-sanity-check-2 manually. After picking
Continue on the first window, I get another one that says:

Please contact your system administrator to resolve the following problem:
Could not resolve the address "xml:readonly:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.system"
in the configuration file "/sw/etc/gconf/2/path": Failed: Could not make
directory `/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.system': No such file or directory

Do you get the same thing? Those references to /etc seem a bit
suspicious to me, and may indicate that some additional patching is needed.
