Hmm...I'm not sure what the best option is here. When I had this problem on one of my machines, I did the following: 1) I captured a list of my installed packages as per http://finkers.wordpress.com/2009/08/31/starting-anew/ 2) I cleaned my Fink installation down to essential packages as per http://wiki.finkproject.org/index.php/Fink:CleanBuild (switching /sw2 to /sw) 3) I ran "fink cleanup --dpkg-status" to simplify my /sw/var/lib/dpkg/status file. 4) I looked in /sw/var/lib/dpkg/status for deviations in the Status from either "installed ok installed" or "purge ok not-installed" 5) Once I removed all of those, I restored my Fink installation by passing the list of installed packages to "fink install", also as in http://finkers.wordpress.com/2009/08/31/starting-anew/ However, that was a tedious process. - -- Alexander Hansen, Ph.D. Fink User Liaison -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (Darwin) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk19YOIACgkQB8UpO3rKjQ+CtQCfVO5qJI1RKqMfcAM6UCOCqbpN afwAn0aacQYDwysKLcViRDJGqtCGSN5P =HbI3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Colocation vs. Managed Hosting A question and answer guide to determining the best fit for your organization - today and in the future. http://p.sf.net/sfu/internap-sfd2d _______________________________________________ Fink-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-users
