That's not  _my_ problem.  It's gcc44 (not my package) that isn't
building for you, quite possibly due to a virtual package error in the
fink code (also not my package).  The fact that you ultimately want nco
isn't relevant.  I'm therefore cc'ing the mailing list, and all further
discussion should occur in that venue.

However, since you're using a version of the fink package manager which
is almost four years old, I'd recommend fixing that first, as per:

Once you're up to date there, then see if the Xcode detection is now
working properly.
