I was wrong. I poked around in the virtual package code, and found, for system-java<XX>-dev: This package represents an installed version of Apple's Java SDK. It is considered present if the /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/[VERSION]/Headers directory exists. So let's look at /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions: $ ls -l /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/ total 32 lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 10 Jul 21 20:51 1.4 -> CurrentJDK lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 10 Jul 21 20:51 1.4.2 -> CurrentJDK lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 10 Jul 21 20:51 1.5 -> CurrentJDK lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 10 Jul 21 20:51 1.5.0 -> CurrentJDK lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 10 Jul 21 20:51 1.6 -> CurrentJDK lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 10 Jul 21 20:51 1.6.0 -> CurrentJDK drwxr-xr-x 7 root wheel 272 Jul 22 08:01 A lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 1 Jul 21 20:51 Current -> A lrwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 59 Jul 21 20:51 CurrentJDK -> /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents Check that those symlinks are present, and that /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents is present. - -- Alexander Hansen, Ph.D. Fink User Liaison http://finkakh.wordpress.com/ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (Darwin) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk5ecnQACgkQB8UpO3rKjQ8ojwCghry0mjcpNa8gCeGIO1BHV2fV hZkAoIeUVWPoRCv/tjXrabGCqE/fiqFl =SI7s -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Special Offer -- Download ArcSight Logger for FREE!
