Following up:

I get the same failure as Patrick does when using glew-1.3.5-1023 from
stable.  Since we've got essentially the same packaging in 10.4 and
10.7, as per our current simplification push I have moved glew-1.6.0-2
over to stable (maintainer cc'ed).  This version should be available
shortly via selfupdate.
