Then I'll go ahead and install the Xcode updates and see what else I can
break. :-)

Which brings to mind a tangentially related question, not really a fink
question, and almost a rhetorical one: Is there a way to tell the App
Store to ignore a particular update the way you could in the old
Software Update pane? I haven't found a way to do that yet, and for
almost a month now I've been getting a daily alert asking me if I want
to install those Xcode updates.

I don't want to turn off automatic notification of updates altogether,
but when there's an update I'm purposely not installing, it's annoying
to have to clear the alert every day--and the furthest forward you can
push it to is the next day. App Store doesn't have an entry in the
Notifications pref pane, at least not for me, so I can't switch it from
alerts to banners there. Is there a hidden setting in the command line I
can use to change that?
