You didn't indicate what package's failure lead to cause the bootstrap 
failure, but maybe it was apt.

It's not mandatory--Fink's X11 detection triggers Apple's download on 
demand hook.

For folks reading this list:  If you get a failure during bootstrap, 
contact us.  The bootstrap is not set up to allow resuming.

I expect that the problem might be due to your mismatched Xcode.app and 
command-line tools.  The bootstrap doesn't check for that because we 
honestly didn't know that this was a problem--it's quite possible to 
bootstrap Fink with no Xcode.app.  Xcode 5 has change a lot of stuff 
around under the hood, though.
