It depends. Our numerix module does:
from numpy.core import ma as MA
so that you can do
from fipy.tools.numerix import MA
and get the right thing. At least in recent versions of FiPy, you can
also do
from fipy import *
and get the correct masked array package.
If, on the other hand, you're doing
import MA
or anything that doesn't import by way of FiPy, then I agree; this
will be the old one for Numeric, and so could cause problems with NumPy.
