In response to someone else's posting about sending Eric the code, I
know that the now abandoned Gerry's ICQ (which now to my knowledge has
sprung up xICQ), had file transfer capability and full chat (direct
connect), but it's not in Cocoa (it's Carbon). If the relevant code
(file transfer direct connect) is in just plain C or C++, it could work
for Fire, right? Perhaps if someone wishes to take a look, the app and
its source is available at http://homepage.mac.com/xicq/.
