This affects the English-Only release of Fire 0.29.a and the current CVS
build.
If the folder ~/Library/Application Support/ does not exist, Fire will not
save your buddy list or store any conversations. (Namely because it can't
create ~/Library/Application Support/Fire to store them in.) If another
application has already created ~/Library/Application Support, Fire will
behave as expected.
As a workaround until I fix the source code, use the Finder to create a
folder titled "Application Support" in the Library folder in your home
directory. (You will have to do this for each user on the machine who uses
Fire.) Fire should now behave as normal.
(BTW, if any industrious users want to cut their teeth on the Fire source
code, MainController.m needs to check for ~/Library/Application Support and
create it if necessary before trying to work with ~/Library/Application
Support/Fire -- should be an easy fix.)
