So the reconnect issue is due to me having reconnect if closes checked. It shouldn't
keep connecting on an error. If its shut down, try again, and if fails, lengthen the
rety time.
Also, each time an error is reported, a NEW dialog is opened. If you are not around,
you can end up with 100s of these buggers
