Hello everyone!
It's Meredydd here, upstream MSN author, borrowing someone else's
account, so please direct all replies to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
OK, one big thing - looking back over the list (on this borrowed account
again, I'm afraid I haven't got around to joining where I am), I see a
lot of MSN issues, with several marked as bugs by senior devels around
here. If you do identify this kind of thing, please CC the description
to me and I'll get onto it. I can't help if I don't know. As well as
that, if you change msn_XXX.C / .h, your fixes will get nuked when a
later version of the MSN lib is uploaded.
Speaking of which, you're using a version that's several weeks old. If
you want to grab the latest, check out
http://blackhole.wincoll.ac.uk:81/msn/ - pick the most recent one (1.1b
atm I think), and download it. Unpack it, and you'll find a replacement
set of .C and .h files. You'll need to implement a couple of new
functions (FriendlyName handling), alter a bit (msn_new_list_entry() no
longer takes FriendlyName as it's useless at that point), and do a
couple of new things (you'll have to set your status to NLN to start
with, rather than it being done automatically - this means that you can
start off as Hidden/Away). Privacy settings are also not kludged, which
may solve some of these "I can't see these people" problems. The "XXX is
typing" messages problem iis interesting - once you've got the latest
version, please send me a full report!
Thanks a lot,
Meredydd
