I remember back in the day when Fire's AIM functionality actually
included setting away messages to their text, not just "away" as it does
now. I believe that this ability was removed in the quest to create a
standard interface through which Fire could interact with messenger
services added to it, much to the annoyance of all my acquaintances.
However, today I received shocking news from one of my friends, it turns
out that sometime last night my away message was actually set correctly
for some short amount of time! My friend checked my info and it
actually displayed a real away message, shortly there after they had to
resort to sending me messages again, however. Now, I didn't think any
support for real working away messages was left in Fire (I was running
last night's TOT at the time) so I was pretty surprised. I'm sure I
missed this at some point, but could one of the developers explain the
real reason why real away messages are not supported anymore as my
assumptions are usually wrong. I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Morgan
