Hi there,
sorry if this has been discussed to the death, but Ive constantly
got problems to manage many chats at once.
For example I have about 3 chat windows open. My main problem is that
they take such an enormous space on my desktop that I usually
minimize them as much as possible and stack them at the right side of
my desktop.
Now the problems I have are the following:
- Having multiple conversations either take up a _lot_ of screen space
- Or, I sometimes miss messages when I stack the windows so that they
obscure each other.
Now I now that I could have them pop in front of each other when a
new message arives, but I am not willing to tolerate this disruptions
of my workflow. (I also believe that this is really bad UI).
Another solution could be to have some sort of "one shot"
conversation, where each and every window closes after a message has
been sent. I cant use that too, because it totally disrupts my
conversations with a buddy when I constantly have to check the
history (another window) to get a grip of what he tries to tell me.
My question now is: How do all you manage this situation? Do you
simply try not to chat to too many persons at once?
Is there any new UI in the works? Is there still some room for
thinking? (On my behalf? <g>)
Thanks a lot,
cu Martin
p.s.: @Colter and Eric: Did I tell you recently how much I like Fire? <g>
