It is with a heavy heart that I come before you today. I have really
enjoyed working with you, in one degree or another, this past year,
collaborating to make Fire the premier instant messaging application for the
world's premier operating system. I started working on Fire because it was
an incredible application and I had some ideas on how to make it better. So
I taught myself Objective-C (an incredible language) and Cocoa (an
incredible API) and started contributing my ideas. Some were modest bug
fixes. Some have changes the landscape of instant messenger clients
forever. Fire.app is the Apple Computer of IM apps.
Tomorrow, April 20, I will be leaving Colorado Springs. Next Tuesday, I
will be flying to England for two years of missionary service for the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'll be unable to contribute to Fire
until I return in 2004.
If I have been working with you off-list on something (all two of you),
please contact Eric about how to proceed. You may need to bring him up to
speed.
It's been fun.
