I'm seeing the same thing (no sign off messages).
It was checked on in my preferences pane, as it has been since I started
using Fire who knows when. Just in case, I unchecked it, closed the
preferences window, opened the preferences back and rechecked it but it
doesn't seem to have made a difference.
Also, the other thing I noticed missing... I hear the little sounds when I
send a message but not when I receive one. They were there with previous
versions (including Sunday's TOT) but I'm not getting them any longer and
all the preferences seem set appropriately. (Only tested with AIM users
so far though.)
