First of all... with respect to the away messages not updating. This only seems to affect the default "away" and "busy" messages.... any custom ones (away/busy/idle/available) created by the user seem to update fine.
Oooops.... sorry got that wrong. It will only update if the status type is changing... ie from away to busy to idle to available etc. If you are not changing type ie you are moving from one away message to another it does NOT change the message but it will if ya move for an away message to a busy message. I have also noticed the the icons dont change form the plain smiley to the the one with the wee away symbol over it in the official yahoo client.
when ya set a custom message next to your name in the yahoo client it asks if ya want to use the away icon or just leave the icon as available. Fire may not be setting the icon to away correctly when it sends the custom messages
with reference to the problem relating to returning to the "available" state. I have noticed that this will work if you again create a custom "BLANK" message with it's type set to "available" in the "edit away messages" window. What this actually does is it clears the text string next to your user name in your mates buddy windows. This does not work when you come out of auto idle state as fire will use the default "Available" option and not the custom one i created.
em... well would ya know it... am wrong again.... the idle function seems to be reseting fine now. so when ma compy has gone idle and i start to use it again it is refreshing in the yahoo client correctly.
Motto of this wee story... MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE CORRECT VERSION. Sorry....
John
