I think you will find a wide diverstity of views as to the special utiility of the shotgun and even repetition of gun-counter twaddle, even among the "authorities".
Here is the view of one instructor, Gabe Suarez, which I happen to think is the most reasonable http://www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?t=7479 -----Original Message----- From: firearmsregprof-boun...@lists.ucla.edu [mailto:firearmsregprof-boun...@lists.ucla.edu]on Behalf Of Volokh, Eugene Sent: Wednesday, February 04, 2009 11:09 AM To: firearmsregprof@lists.ucla.edu Subject: Shotguns as recommended for self-defense for some people over handguns I've often heard people say that shotguns are better than handguns for self-defense for some people. I know others disagree, but for now I just want a cite for the proposition that just as Heller points out that handguns are reasonably preferred by some, so shotguns could be reasonably preferred by others. Can anyone please pass along such a quick cite for me? Many thanks, Eugene
