Generally agreed. The huge rate of incarceration of black adult males is also factor in the lack of good male fathers as role models for black males. Single motherhood by poor young females is often a one-way ticket to poverty. There are other problems in America's black and poor subculture, but I concur in your general point. Reportedly, 60% of homicide victims are black males Reportedly, most of these are associated to gang and related activities The overwhelming majority of these deaths occur in select, major metropolitan areas These major metropolitan areas have seen devastation the last 50ish years as a result of the evisceration of the black family as the result of revised welfare rules, ostensibly enacted to improve the overall black life, but at the cost of strong families and, due to a glass ceiling, imposing a limit on income to welfare recipients. As a result of the weakened family, gang activity, accentuated by the lure or drugs and drug money, has seen exorbitant increases in these centers especially. These metropolitan areas also represent the strictest areas for gun control in the nation. And thus it is the fault of guns there are homicides?
