Helen,

In the release notes for 3.0 Alpha 2 I noticed the following "bug" (or
maybe it was changed after alpha 2, not sure):

section Identity Column Type says on PDF page 49 (page nr 41):

"Currently, RDB$IDENTITY_TYPE always stores the value 0 (GENERATED BY
DEFAULT) for identity columns and NULL for non-identity columns. In the
future this column will be able to store the value 1 (GENERATED ALWAYS)
when that type of identity column is supported by Firebird."

The value for GENERATED BY DEFAULT is 1 (not 0), so my assumption would be
GENERATED ALWAYS (when it is implemented) would be value 2 (not 1), but
this seems to be contradicted by the RDB$TYPES table which describes
RDB$IDENTITY_TYPE value 0 as ALWAYS.

Mark

PS Should I report this in the DOC tracker instead?
