No, with git log you can see every previous version of a file without closing 
the IDE, switching branches, etc.
The only requirement is FB2.0, FB2.5, FB3.0 branches must be stored in the same 
repository.

   For example, I'm working on some issue in 3.0 branch, but I would like to

   What would I have to do with git? Close MSVC, commit unfinished work, switch 
to 2.5 branch, look at the file, switch to 2.0 branch, look at the file and so 
on. Right?
