Although I don't disagree with what you said Pavel, I would support deprecation of arrays in FB4 (in fact I would support removal of arrays in FB4 and late-to-the-party deprecation in FB3, but that ship has probably sailed). I wouldn't bother closing the gap.
Deprecation should be announced at least one version in advance (which is the proper routine everyone is used to). Because feature set for FB4 was defined & announced long time ago, and we are close to final release this year, I think it's too late to announce removal of ARRAYs from FB4 now. Although it would likely do no harm, it would be a bad signal to the public to be so much "unpredictable". Don't want to be in the same bandwagon with Microsoft.
