No.
Originally, in v2.5 engine loads all modules at "plugins" sub-folder with names
starting with "fbtrace".
Later, with new config subsystem in v3 it was replaced by more common way -
there is setting TracePlugin
which accept list of plugin names.
Trace session can't choose trace plugin, yes. Thus, all loaded plugins
receives notifications from the engine.
