That is in fact what I am doing.

I built it against 1.1.16.1 (gentoo) with some changes to the makefile
and only a couple of very minor changes to the code (stricter syntax).
It looks like the error is coming from something that happens either in
another thread or during clean-up.

(I'm trying to debug it now, but monodevelop requires that I build my
stupid project *in monodevelop* for it to debug. Ack.)

Looks like I may be going back to 32 bit mode after all. :(
