Thanks all, my problem seems to also have disappeared. I recreated the
database, removing all other definitions for charsets in the script. So all
text types and text blobs will use the default database charset. 

I am using ISO8859_1 charset with the .NET provider.

[PM] For me , this error dissapeared after reinstalling Firebird!
